I recently met up with a friend who shared an internal conflict I think many of us grapple with.

On the one hand, he feels grateful for all he has - his loving family, enjoyable job, financial stability, and general contentment with life. When he really reflects, he knows he has much to appreciate.

But on the other hand, he wonders if he needs more struggle and intensity. Bigger, bolder goals. Grander ambitions. His life feels too comfortable, too smooth, making him question if he's fulfilling his potential. Self-doubt creeps in.

I believe this push and pull stems from our innate human need for growth and creativity. We feel most alive when we're learning, building, and manifesting. Stagnation breeds restlessness, lethargy, and a general sense that something is missing.

When we do hit plateaus and feel stuck in a rut, it's tempting to assume we need radical change. To drastically amp up our goals, shake things up, or manufacture more intensity. We crave that adrenaline rush.

But often, getting unstuck requires embracing smaller, more mindful steps. Instead of replicating the intensity of our 20s, we can focus on consistency and sustainability. Daily practices and routines allow us to channel our need for progress into incremental growth.

The key is to keep moving, even if slowly. To stay curious, maintain our hobbies, make time for self-care, and continue learning new skills. Compounding small gains achieved with focus is powerful over time.

We don't always need to scale mountains or sacrifice everything to feel we're on the right path. Even a gentle hike can get us where we need to go.

As long as we are engaged in consistent action aligned with our inner wisdom, we fulfil our destinies. It's not about struggle or dramatic achievement but about using our unique gifts to contribute value. It is about enjoying the journey, not just the destination.

So next time you feel that niggling tug, remember - you don't need more intensity. You need to keep taking one mindful, intentional step after another. Progress unfolds organically when you walk the path meant for you.
